A veteran of the urban club scene, B Naughty first got into the music scene back
in the late 80’s.
By the early 90’s DJ B Naughty was working with the 2Funky Crew and continued to
do so throughout the 90’s, before joining Xs-Bass, a DJ & Production outfit for
club music genres which specifically concentrated on delivering R&B, Soul,
Breaks, Hip-Hop, House, Drum ‘n’ Bass, as well as a collaboration of Garage and
Bhangra to the club scene. During this time, B Naughty was DJ’ing on the D &B
scene with Formation Records. This gave him the opportunity to play and study
'club music' in practice and also, to tour the UK, meeting many of the
professionals and celebrities of the music industry along the way.
From 2001, DJ B Naughty held a weekly residency at Fruity which resided at
University of Leeds which lasted for 5 years, and played a major role in his DJ
rota. The weekly event attracted over 1,600 students every week, and Fruity
went strength-to-strength in 2001, winning Best Student Night of the Year award
(Leeds Bar & Club Awards). In addition to this, DJ B Naughty has resided at
various Leeds University events since 2001, including one of the UK’s biggest
Urban Jams. Occurring twice a year, The Fresher's Ball and The Summer Ball is
attended by approximately 5000 people every year, with the exception of the 2007
Summer Ball which greatly outweighed the last six years attracting 6,500
partygoers. B Naughty has also guested at the official Universities Blues and
Soul/ BBC 1Xtra parties...
Along the way, DJ B Naughty has headlined a number of national and international
gigs including
Smoove at Ministry of Sound (London), LoveDough, the monumental R&B Shows
across the UK and the Millennium and New year Celebration parties for BBC Radio
1 and 1Xtra, live on air from around the UK.
To date, B Naughty’s residencies include a weekly slot at LoveDough, the UK's
biggest Hip-Hop and R&B show, and he has worked with premiere A-list artists
under the LoveDough banner, across the globe. You can catch DJ B Naughty in
Ibiza and BCM Mallorca this summer 2008 for his regular residency there. He has
also played alongside DJ’s such as Shortee Blitz, Dj Kofi, Rampage, Ronnie
Herel, Manny Norte, Diggz, G Child, Mr. Thing, Steve Sutherland, Firin Squad,
Mister Jam and DJ'd with artists like Shystie, Zene from Misteeq, Sway Desafo,
Fatman Scoop, Heavy rotation Crew, Tony Touche, Grandmaster Flash (USA).
As well as his show-stopping club performances, B Naughty has also hosted his
own shows on Demon FM & Fresh FM, pioneer pirate stations in Leicester. The
‘Fruits of Soul’ on LSRFM Fridays and also guested on various urban shows with
his class mixing techniques on BBC1, 1xtra and Galaxy FM to name a few
throughout the last decade or so.
A natural-born entertainer, B Naughty is renowned for his ability to rock any
dancefloor ranging from an intimate select audience of 300 VIP’s to a 3,000
strong crowd of partygoers, with his unparalleled talent for mixing and mic-work.
When he is not behind the decks, DJ B naughty can often be found in the studio
remixing tracks to be played on the urban circuit, or collaborating with other
producers and DJ’s.
At present B Naughty’s major projects include DJ’ing at Tiger Tiger venues
nationally, guaranteeing appearance performances every Friday and Saturday and
some weekdays at Tiger Tiger in his hometown of Leeds, attracting hundreds of
party goers who enjoy his unique scratching, mixing and remixes you can only
hear at this particular venue!!!!
In addition to this, DJ B Naughty is now a firm member of the Virgin Records
Street Team promoting Virgin artists throughout the North of the UK,
You can catch DJ B Naughty playing his regular residencies in Ibiza and at BCM’s
in Mallorca over this summer (2008).
Other residencies and appearances during 2008 include: Tiger Tiger and various
other venues throughout the UK, Es Paradis/ Pacha (Ibiza), Booty Call (Greece)
and Club Elevate (India).
