Tony began his DJ’ing career back in 1991 in the Northern City of
Leeds, playing at Ark and Dream. He was soon presenting several shows on Dream
FM in 1992. Tony landed his first weekly club residency in 1992, playing at the
Gallery in Leeds for the world famous Utah Saints, with whom he also toured
America.
By 1993, Tony had founded and promoted ‘Happy’ a weekly house
night based at the Leeds Music Factory, which became best mid-week dance night
in the UK (as voted by DJ Magazine).
In 1994, Tony promoted and DJ’d at ‘Love To Be’ voted club of the
year in 1995, before gaining the accolade of Best Resident DJ in the UK in
1996.
Tony’s love of music crossed over into the mainstream UK radio
network including: Dream Fm from 1992 until 1995. In 1996 Tony moved over to
present and produce the Transatlantic Mix show on Kiss/Galaxy. His show was
co-presented with DJ Disciple live from NYC and featured the best upfront house
music alongside interviews with artistes such as: Armand Van Helden, Roger
Sanchez, DJ Sneak, Eric Morillo, Mousse T, David Morales, Tony Humphries,
Barbara Tucker, Sandy B and many more. Tony also presented the Dance Capital
Show on Galaxy 102 for Manchester. Several of Tony’s shows have been syndicated
globally to the following radio station worldwide: Station 1 (Italy), UK Radio
(Greece), KDGE (Dallas) and WIRE (New York City).
Tony was then elevated to the realms of Superstar DJ, when he
broke into the Worlds Top 100 DJ list flying straight in at number 22!
Since the early to late 90’s, Tony has been a regular spinner at
some of the biggest and best clubs around the globe including: Federation,
Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher, El Divino, Space, Pacha (Ibiza), Centro Fly,
Cheetah (NYC), Supper Club (Amsterdam), Passion, déjà vu, Kinky Malinky, Sugar
(Singapore), Salt (Australia), and Stark (Dallas).
Tony’s production credits are lengthy and they include projects
for Jonnie Fiori, Lonnie Gordon, Mary Pierce, Unique 3 and Serena as well as his
own tracks recorded as: Main Connection, Soul Friction, One Foot in the Groove,
Peak Time Players and the Barkin Brothers.
Alongside, his DJ’ing and production work, Tony is currently
Managing Director of T:MIX which is one of the North’s leading Production and
Promotion Agencies, in addition to being the founder and Company Director of
‘One Foot In The Groove’ record label. He is also a guest speaker for the DJ
course at the Leeds College of Music and is Music Industry Consultant for the UK
Government.
Tony’s residencies and regular appearances in the UK include the

Being a DJ has led Tony into being a record reviewer for DJ
Magazine, BPM and 8020 magazines (Greater Manchester based). He has also
written freelance contributions for Ministry, Muzik, Discoid and Club On
magazines – all very well thought of within the music industry. He has also
managed 2 record shops, mainly looking after the vinyl at Urban Rhythm Records
and Eastern Bloc Records.
Tony has also made a number of TV appearances including: DFC
(MTV Europe), Clubavision (ITV UK), Ibiza Uncovered (SKY), Tenerife Uncovered
(SKY) and Connected (Cable).
